insurance in new zealand

hello there, i've been making enquiries about short term insurance, 6 weeks, for biking in nz and been told I'll only get third party cover.

Has anyone else done it? ..... how did you do it? thanks in advance!

I lived in NZ for a few years, insurance isn't compulsory. You will get third party ok but if you look around when in country you should sort it out.
Our bikes arrive in NZ in two weeks time, we fly out on tuesday. What's your eta?

Finding a company to insure foreign bikes might take some calling around, but for short term cover just get a full policy & take the pay by monthly installment option, then cancel the policy when you leave.

Many banks will provide insurance for customers, so an option can be to open a bank account in NZ, then do as Clint said, take an annual policy, select the pay by month option and then cancel when you leave.

Cheers bloke
