Im on 85 (100 within 2 years is loss for x amount of time)demerit points for my nz license. Does anyone know how this would affect me driving/riding in oz?

Your licence is valid, so how should it affect your ability to drive? Are the points actually written onto the licence?

No they're not. I was wondering how the point system works relative to the australian points sytem.

We get 12 points for three years. pending on the fine as to how many you lose.as long as you have a valid licence go to your local motoring body and get an international driving permit, need a photo

As far as your point situation - no problem, there is nothing in place to easily check that. unless you are charged with a serious driving conviction while in Aussie they won't look.
