Bike rental
My mate is hopefully coming out to OZ in November and we are looking to ride from Sydney to Melbourne together. He wants to hire a bike. Does anyone know of any company that hires bikes and would it be possible to pick it up in Sydney and drop it off in Melbourne.

I have hired from Bikescape in Sydney. They were fine. I remembered seeing the one way hire option, but it does cost extra (and bike hire is ALWAYS expensive compared to car hire in Aussie).

You could try Garners bikes in Melbourne. They do one way hire so you amy find they have a bike in Sydney, or contacts.
http://www.garnersmotorcycles.com.au Tell them where you got the address and maybe Grant can get them to advertise.

Actually, that's a very good idea! Ring all the hire companies in Melbourne and see if there is a one way hire ending in Sydney. I know here in NZ, hire rates are cheaper in cities that end up with lots of hire cars (eg Christchurch) in an attempt to get cars back. In fact a couple of firms even have free car hire to try and balance things up again. Maybe flying into Melbourne and riding back might be a cheaper option?

I know of this small company in OZI that does m/c tours. They may also hire bikes as well. If not, they will defently be able to give you more info.
