Any recommendation for a free gps map for Australia?
Which is the best one in your opinion?

Shonkymaps are good and free too

Thanks for the tip, but I prefer routable maps + a proper POI database.
Shonkymaps has neither as I understand.

Free worldwide routable Garmin maps from OpenStreetMap

I use the free routable Australian map from this source Never tried anything else so I can't say how it compares to others but I've always found it pretty good. Hope this helps.
