Arriving in Darwin in 3 weeks

Hi All

I am just putting this message out there- i am riding an Africa twin, currently in Jaipur India, and looking to ship the bike to Darwin. I have broken down as i connected the MOSFET reg / recrtifier the wrong way when changing the battery and fried it, i am trying to get a spare from a 650 transalp to work.

Is there anyone in the Darwin area who can meet up and help me get on my feet before heading into the outback? i am a little unprepared, have sat nav but need to sort a map for Oz. Need a new front tyre and an oil change. And hopefully some s and advice on what i should be taking with me to survive the trip from Darwin down to Adelaide along the coast. Also i understand i may be asked for an address when i arrive so any help on this would be great.

My compadres have returned to London now so i am waiting in the hotel for news from the garage and, if i can get it fixed, will ride to Kolkata and ship to Darwin.

Hope to be in contact with some of you Ozzie's soon!

Cheers, Adam

Hi Adam,
Sorry I can not offer advise or help you out in Darwin but when you get to Adelaide please PM me. I live in the hills outside of Adelaide and could offer you much advise on this part of the world along with a place to stay and a few cold ones.

Hi Adam,

Here is how my process went when arriving to Darwin about a month ago: Process to get bike from Dili to Darwin | Where is Hemuli?

Remember to clean your bike properly.

Alicross was fast and good place to get new tires in Darwin.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
