250cc circling Australia then to NZ

Howdy,

I'm going to circle Australia. I show up in Sydney Oct 14th and make my way to Berkley Vale to pick up my bike. I think I'll be able to see North Australia without getting caught in a monsoon.

Does anyone have advice, backyards I can camp in, or under the table jobs? This is a test run for my rtw attempt. I'll get any problems figured out where people speak English -- I'm can't speak other languages (yet).

I'm also looking for a cheap way of getting me and my bike to NZ after 3 months when my visa expires.

Hi Dave,

I done a similar round-oz trip in 1997 and lived in Australia until last year so alhtough I can't help you with a bed for the night feel free to ask questions regarding, accomodation, riding, what to see etc.

Thanks

Will do. Not sure when I'll be in Adelaide though. I'm stuck in Mackay with a leaky tank, which isn't a bad place to be. I'm in the tropics, drinking rum and watching drunk parrots roam around the front yard. If my tank started pissing fuel in Western Australia, then I'd be screwed.

I figured I should go the other way to avoid the wet up north. I'm stuck in Cairns waiting for my tank to get fixed. The guy who built my bike did a few low budget bits on it that I've been sorting out.

Should be here another week and hopefully I'll make it to Darwin. I'm not on a schedule, are you? It'd make it easier to meet up.

I'm up in Cookstown right now waiting for my tank to get fixed and mailed up to Cairns. Just riding around looking at stuff. If it takes too long for my tank to get fixed, I might skip out of Darwin. I don't want to get stuck in the wet and it's getting close. Send me an email and maybe we can work something out.
