2010 Travellers meeting?

What is the chances of having a Horizons Unlimited Meeting up in North Queensland next year in winter or dry season as they call it over there(2010)?
My wife and I plan to be up in that area in June/July/Aug, so if the event can become a reality during that time we would like to assist.

We are currently down in VIC, and plan to spend the summer down south saving some money first.

Hey Locky, we have a few places in mind, we haven't made a decision yet and as for a date - that seams to be pretty hard trying to work in around every motorbike event! Hopefully we will know more by the end of the month.

Date is set for ANZAC Day weekend 2010 (subject to Grants confirmation). We checked out a venue yesterday just out of Cooroy on the Cooroy - Noosa road and it looks like it has everything we need or close to it anyway!

Stay tuned!!!!

Location & Time ?

School Holidays then, that area is very busy at that time of year, may have been a little wiser having it a month later, when the kids are back at school and there a far less holiday makers to contend with. But at the end of the day it makes little difference to me.
Yes I agree with you Richard re-location, I personally thought Airlie Bch, would have been nice
Cheers

I'd say the further North the better.

I'm heading for WA (Perth) soon to take up a job over there and it would be nice to ride up to Cairns straight through the middle (Great Central Road) and maybe even go further to Cape York?

Well looks like we have a venue for 2011 then. Thanks to TS & Paul for stepping up to organise.

As for 2010, a few of us have already invested heavily in time and energy to try and put something together. So rather than making some negative remarks, what about telling us how you are going to pitch in and help.
As soon as Grant answers our emails we will provide more details.

Queenslander !

Firstly, I do not think my remarks were that negative if you choose
to interpret them that way it is your prerogative. The second thing is I would only be to happy to put my hand up for 2011 however I would insist it being in the Whitsundays, great rides, great location, day trip to Hamo the list goes on.Now that is out of the way we should knuckle down to this Origin series we must put on a show bigger and better than Mitta Mitta
(We can not let the bloody Victorians show us up !!!) And yes I will put my
hand up if you need a handall you have to do is let me know.
As for Richards comment I am sure he did not mean anything by it, all the ?
would of been was any where else even considered ? Well I can answer that for you, it would be a bit silly for it to be in say Airlie Bch or Townsville, Cairns any any othe destination, if the primary organisers live in the South East I even acknowledge that so Congrats for putting you hands up and we look forward to a great Meeting !!!

Thanks Paul

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
