Shipping 4x4 Southeast asia to europe - Info required

Hello,
In 2 months I will arrive with my own car in Thailand and intend to drive through cambodia as well as malaysia.

However, I probably want to sell my car, registered in germany, for some reasons.

If NOT- I need to ship it back home to any cheap port in europe. Can anybody recommend a good depart in asia and arrival port in europe?
Is anybody sharing a container?

Does anybody know whether
there is a "overlander car sales platform"?
There is a chance to sell a LEFThanddrive car?
I can contact somebody who made his own experience?

Is there any forum etc. which provides information about taxes, import etc.?

As I found out, to sell the car to immigrants in thailand doesn't seem to be an option due to their import regulations.

Thanks to the community for sharing your information :-)
Thomas

Thomas,

Have you considered RORO? This piost is really useful Shipping RORO - List of Car Carriers - Route Maps | Overland Sphere - Overland Travel Forum & Information

You might also want to try posting in Overland Sphere Facebook Group for container sharing, other shipping options or to sell the vehicle.

Good luck

Tim

Hi Lisa,
thank you for your thoughts. Unfortunately things are apparently not always as they might look like. Considering to ship the car back home is not what I intended to do some weeks ago but to travel further alone is something I cannot imagine at the moment.
I hope for you and me that we gonna make our own way wherever it will lead us!
I wish you all the best and a happy arrival back home!
Cheers
Thomas

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
