trip to China 2010
 

I contacted Diethelm Travel in Beijing which came highly recommended on this forum 16 days ago re a Unimog trip to China, entering from Laos in April 2010, leaving via Mongolia in late June.
They sent me a detailed 66 day itinerary this am, which I need to look at carefully using the atlas. Of course I'll want to add a few things like a visit to Kailas.
So will contact me later regarding (the considerable amount) of government paperwork to be done, and I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny with a guide (required) for 66 days. But they did agree to my request for camping most nights and avoiding big cities except for Lhasa.
So far I'm very happy with Diethelm. If there is anyone interested in a small group of vehicles following this route at that time, please contact me. I did tell them that ground clearance and traction weren't problems, so beware that factor.
