Traveling the world in Lada Niva

I was thinking about traveling the world in Niva. It's not expensive viachle like defender or land cruiser but i thing you can have confidence in it. Thay said that is one of the best 4*4 viachle in Europe. I know that it can carry only 400 kg but for two persons and luggage its enough.
So whad do you say???

If you have one in good shape, and take care with it, why not. Friends of me did Belgium to Kirgizia and back with 3 in a Niva. All went well.

They are tough little vehicles - a Dutch friend of mine drove one through a river and sucked water into the engine (you crazy Dutch guys !) - he realised just in time and turned the engine off - we then winched it out - very deep - nearly to the roof !!! pulled the spark plugs out, turned the engine over - water spraying out of the plug holes - not good - we let it dry for ten minutes, put the plugs back in and it started first time ! he drove home and changed the oil - with no problems afterwards...
Travel light and slow and you will be fine. Dobberdan
