shipping to Africa
Hi all,
I'm looking at shipping a 4x4 from the UK to Namibia early next year. I'll then drive the car to Uganda, where I'll be working. I've been quoted £1000 for a space on a RoRo ferry. Has anyone get any experience of using RoRo? I'm a little concerned about the safety of the vehicle as I've been told to put nothing at all inside. And can anyone give me an idea of the procedure for collecting the vehicle from the port, the paperwork I'll need, costs etc. There's an alternative route of driving the whole way, via Egypt, but the ferry and the general hassle in Egypt is seriously putting me off this idea! Anyone done it recently? Thanks all. |

RoRo
First of all - do NOT under any circumstances ship your vehicle RoRo - it will Not be intact on arrival!
Ship in a container to Namibia - look on the forums, others have done it. Or try the shipping companies. Foley's have shipped to Namibia regularly - ask them for their contacts
