Refrigerated Seat Covers ???

Gimmick or useful.

Has anybody tried these out
http://www.frogsisland4x4shop.com/product.php/62/7/

I dont fancy the trip with cyrrent leather seats. Are decent cloth covers the way to go, or is this refridgerator gadget thingy worth the cash?

Any info welcome. Thanks

Ass-cooling

Hehe, we tried these on a trip to Timbk2 at the begining of the year.

They do actually work. The effect is quite noticeable - chilly almost!

Downsides:
1) One had stopped working by the end of the trip
2) They're surprisingly bulky.
3) They could be more comfortable - kind of lumpy and hard.
4) It's another gadget to plug in.

Last trip to Morocco they stayed in the back. Although if we went anywhere in the summer they might come out again.

Wooden Beads?

Jamie
I’ve never tried a refrigerated seat but to me it looks like a gadget which might half-work, just waiting to break.

For a cheaper option, have you considered a wooden bead seat cover? They might sound naff, but I inherited a pair in a car once and they keep you off the leather or synthetic cloth. Allegedly they cut down on static shocks too.

Significantly cheaper and if you got fed up with them you could always have a barbecue or sell them to a Cairo taxi-driver.

I concur. The beaded seat covers do work and are 100% reliable. I have used them on all my trips to places in hot climes and neved had a single sting break or bead wear out of shape. As an extra bonus your get a refreshing gentle massage while driving on corrugations.

thanks

Cheers for the info people.
Expect more, as I try to adjust to this idea of 4 wheeled travel.

Roman, any suggestions for suppliers?

Roman 22 May 2006 11:17

Darrin,

Try http://www.taxi-mart.co.uk for product code A33810 [Autocare Beaded Seat Cover]

Cheers Roman - it's even within my budget ;-)

Darrin,

Go spoil yourself!

Another useful item carried on their website - a removable mini safe box (FIC1032). I once bought one from Hans Daerr for a lot more money.

I already have - I've just bought a HJ60 ;-)
