From ZA up thro Africa...then??

I'm planning a trip early next year(2014) in a Landrover 4x4 from South Africa up North with the intention of crossing into Europe or thereabouts as I would love to do a RTW(maybe even Brazil for 2014 WC)
Also going to be carrying some music equipment(this to be able to apply my talents to earn while travelling).

I Have read an huge amount of threads on visas, travel documents, do's and dont's and other things that have made for very interesting reading but they almost seem to be creating a dead-end for my initial goal.

Thus far I have no itinerary as to which countries I will be going through but it seems like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi up into Ethiopia and on to Sudan(here's where it seems to get difficult). Ideally, a ferry across to Saudi Arabia, then onto Dubai for a short while before going to Iran and on to Turkey. Ok so there's that way around but seeing that I have a RHD Landrover it's obviously a no-go.
Then there's the Egypt, Israel, Jordan route, which from previous posts suggest that it will be difficult crossing on some ferries to ports in a 4x4 which are not allowed.
alternatively going from Egypt through Algeria onto Morocco and attempting to cross into Spain from there. Not sure if I can get shengen visa in Morocco or not?

I have done research on things like Canet de Passage and vehicle registration papers, these sem to be a very important documents while travelling with a vehicle.

I am on a South African passport and albeit that I am a live for the moment type of person I must confess that I have huge concerns abt just packing it all in and 'hitting the road'.
Concerns include the vehicle(4x4), the music equipment, visas and of course any other obstacles one may encounter along the way.

Any suggestions, comments or even to put a stop to will be highly appreciated.

Would luv to get some feedback from anyone who has done something similar or who may have a better route planned that will make it slightly more easier to navigate RTW in this manner on a ZA passprt.

Regards

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
