Morocco Insurance

Anyone any idea if its possible to get better than third party insurance for Morocco? NFU will do third party only, and I am sure the brder insurnace is mainly to avoid fines rather than being of any use!

Land Rover 110 (so may not even get there!)......

I'm pretty sure I had full comp via the NFU for my trip last month as part of their standard cover - I will try to dig out the paperwork in the morning.

OK, just beein going through my policy and it is difficult to tell, but I think that my fully comp UK policy with NFU also applies in Morocco. Talking to our local NFU office if your policy doesn't provide it you should be able to get it for an extra fee - I don't know if you can use other NFU offices, but try Tom on 01285 654754 (Cirencester office), they have been really helpful.

I'll try a different NFU office then. Only third party when asking the NW office. Cheers.

Green Card

Morocco and Tunisia should be mentioned on your Green Card (International Insurance Card) If it is then your coverage is the same as for your home country and the rest of Europe.

Hi Darin, I saw it last year sometime. It was in the online small print somewhere but can't remember where. I didn't take out the policy in the end so can't help unfortunately

Glad you're sorted - I got fully comp for Maroc for my Discovery a couple of years ago with 'More Than', which turns out to be Sun Alliance as well - sorry I missed your original post or I would have said at the time...... Two months Green Card for £50, bargain! Cost me £85 for one month's local 3rd Party at the border for my camper last January and I doubt it's worth the paper it's written on. (Sun Alliance don't do campers as far as I know - unless someone knows different???).

How come other underwriters are not as switched on?

Nigel

Just to be clear for the slower members of the pack: you just ring up and ask for insurance for Morocco only - seperate from your existing insurance etc
