Hi there what GPS maps/systems have you found the best coverage for Morocco? I have a feeling the old TomTom won't do to well but you never know... N

Olaf's free Marok Topo running on Garmin systems.

Personally I use the Zumo 550 motorbike/car GPS. See the notes in the Knowledgebase in my signature for more info on setup.

Perhaps vito smartmap will help you.

It is simpel and cheap (4$) software for PDA/GSM.

VITO Technology - Windows Mobile & iPhone Software

If this website is not updated try google with "Vito smartmap".

Good luck.

I downloaded the free map (posted by Tim) onto my PDA which i run memory map on here in the UK. I also bought the T4A map but found the free one had far more information and routes on! So i just used that with the topo feature overlay off. On the PDA the maps work on Garmin Que software. this is a basic PDA version of mapsource.

coupled with the Michelin 742 paper map, you cannot go far wrong

worked really for us, made the route planning and journeys far more relaxing and enjoyable (the girlfriend is not the best navigator, but learning fast!).

hope this helps.

thanks guys!

I'll firstly give the Vito software a go as I have a PDA with an external GPS reciever.

Probably just buy some precalibrated maps which Vito apparently supply.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
