Diesel prices through Africa???

I've just spent the afternoon trawling the internet looking for the latest diesel prices through Africa. The only information i've found is now a few years out of date.

I'm convinced I was looking at a list of countries with their fuel prices here on the HUBB just a month or so ago, but i'm bu****ed if i can find it now.

If anyone can help with any links or information I would be most grateful.

The countries I'm after are:

Mauritania
Senegal
Mali
Burkina Faso
Ghana
Benin
Togo
Nigeria
Camaroon
Gabon
Congo
DRC
Angola

Many thanks.

What is the point of this exercise?

If its for calculating your gas allowance, I'd suggest the following.

From a budgeting point of view, presume the highest price for Diesel in Europe, do your estimate for miles travelling and presume a 20% decrease in your MPG.
This should effectively get you in the neighborhood of a good budget.

The riskiest presumption in the methodology above is the miles traveled, not the avg price of diesel/fuel...

Thumbs up diesel prices africa

Ghana is equivalent of $1.20 / litre right now
Will get you Burkina, Mali, Nigeria soon.

1 litre of Diesel costs 603CFA in Burkina (approx 420CFA to $1.00)

"What is the point of this exercise?"

So those of use with big tanks, or even the standard tank and a few jerries, can make informed decisions about where to fill up.

If your just about to cross the border and you know fuel is 30% less/more in the next country then that is useful information that may save you up to 50 euros if you can take 300 litres at a time etc etc

Also figuring out a rough conservative cost beforehand is good planning. If in doubt, figure on a euro or a euro 20 cents a litre and if you get to the other end with some cash to spare then good...

I don't think there is any very up to date info. The closest I know of is from 2006/2007

It's on HU

There's also a thread here:

That's before it all went ballistic but at least you can see the relative values.
