4x4 Overland Travel forum

Towards the end of last year it became apparent to me that the UK needed a dedicated 4x4 overland forum of its own. The Germans have a 4x4 overland forum, so do the Swedish, so why don’t we?

I have therefore, inspired by 'the HUBB' I have to say (been following this forum for years) launched a brand new community forum entitled “4x4 Overland Forum” … simple and to the point. It is not however in any way a rival or an alternative to Horizons Unlimited as this is clearly a biker’s resource with a section for 4x4, but a specific forum designed solely for four-wheel-drive expedition vehicles. It can be found at http://www.4x4overlandtravel.com

Importantly, what I've avoided is including a specific bike section. Instead I have publicised Horizons Unlimited within a ‘sticky’ so that anyone interested in motorbike subjects will be directed here.

The precise wording is …

For all matters relating to two wheels (the motorised versions) visitors are advised to seek out the best biker's overland forum in existence - Horizons Unlimited aka the HUBB - http://www.horizonsunlimited.com

It’s early days as “4x4 Overland Forum” was only launched Christmas Day 2010, so don’t expect the world (how apt) but it has been a good start with a lot of interest. Thanks to the mods for allowing this post.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
