OK I understand a camper van as being anything which is self sufficient… sleeping in a roof tent and peeing behind a vine, are all self sufficient in my book.. we’ve just signed up for a year – I’ll let you know if the Toyota troopie isn’t a “camper van” J

They also have partners in Spain, Italy Switzerland etc…

Cheers
Matt

Sounds like the perfect way to spend your retirement... just don’t forget the small motor bike on the back of the camper to explorer the local country side and of course buy the baguettes with ..

Hmmm found myself looking for 12v wine cellars ...

It is actually betterthan you think

If you have a camper van or a tent you can pitch on tarmac. You can often park overnight at many resturants that have car parks. the routiers are especially good as they also have showers as well as naturally, food.

Somewhere there is a list, think there is a campervan club which has a book of most of teh venues, but there are thousands.

The idea is you will have a meal and depart in the morning before the lunchtime traffic.

Also in France, land of the campervan, most rest areas on the major roads have overnight facilities for vans and if you are sensible, bikes with tents.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
