G90's in sand - any opinions?

I'm just about to buy another set of G90's on wolf rims for my imminent trip, which is going to involve quite a lot of sand driving , and we'll be fully loaded up with a dozen jerrys/rooftent/etc
I have used them before in Moroccan ergs and they seemed fine aired down to about 15psi, there weren't many dunes I couldn't get up and I think I only had to be dug out once. That was unloaded though - I'm getting a bit twitchy about what they'll be like with a full load on board and if they're going to give enough surface area.
They're great on rocky pistes and for off roading in the UK, not had one puncture yet and they wear very well, I need to consider thier wider use as well as my little trips. Also I can get them a lot cheaper than BFG's...

Just wondering if anyone has used them on an overlander through sand and how well they did? I keep reading unflattering reports about them, though they tend to be from people who haven't actually used them.

G90

How badly worn are your old ones? I would think that worn G90s would be better in soft sand than new ones - but it's a ballance with other conditions/ terrain.I used new Goodyear wrangler M/tr and they tended to dig rather than compress. 2 years later with 50k on them they were noticably better.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
