Unimog Campervan for Sale

Plans have changed...again. As a result, we're having to sell our Beast - a 1973 Mercedes Unimog 416 radio box, converted to campervan for what was to be a 5 year trip through Africa.
Too many extras to list...for details, have a look at our website (something else that is now undergoing a big change!)
http://www.chrisandnita.com/Unimog_For_Sale.htm

Bought her in Belgium and have spent over £10k on her in total, and are looking to recover whatever we can...so offers welcome.

I will point out that she failed MOT on intermittent brake light and excessive play in the steering. I've got a replacement steering box, but haven't got round to fitting it. She's not yet registered in the UK (need the MOT to register her).

Any queries, give me a call on 07866 981359. This is my work mobile so may be switched off while I'm unavailable.
Cheers
Chris

Nice looking

Nice looking truck chris, pity you have not had a chance to take her on journey. Do you think she would make it across the sahara without too much trouble? east to west?

Thats the kind of trip we bought her for. I've owned a toyota hilux and a toyota landcruiser, (and recently a land rover 130), but this is what we settled on for a long trip...we've spent our time in roof top tents, sleeping in the back of a ford van, ground tent, etc, but for an extended trip, the comfort and safety and the ability to carry loads of food water and fuel was why we chose her - and their fantastic off road ability. There are concerns about a top heavy vehicle in sand (and other situations), but you've just got to take that into account when driving.

Short answer - its what she's made for!!

cheers
Chris

Unimog Campervan sold

We've now sold the beast. Thanks to all those who enquired.

Yeh moggy1968, sorry for that, our website exceeded the download limits - everyone looking at the mog details...might need to pay to up the limits in preparation for selling the land rover!!!

Talking Funny you should ask....

Hi Tri Nz,

...the landie is currently on eBay ending this Sunday evening...I posted a seperate thread with the item number for any who were interested.

I can't really compare the disco gearbox to anything as I've never driven a "standard" 130. I'm not sure if it is the gearbox, but it cruises better than I expected on the motorway, or those little french roads, and still pulls well when greenlaning...couldn't complain at all.

Cheers
Chris
