Unimog 1300L
Looking at buying an ex military Unimog 1300L. It seems to be the perfect support vehicle for a team of 110 Defenders to carry fuel and water and camping equipment etc.
The question that was posed to me is how fast can these vehicles travel when fully laden offroad? I gather they are rated at 55mph max speed on road. Does anyone have any experience on what speed you can expect when laden on Saharan reg & serir? Will the Defenders be held up by the Mog much? |

Hi
From my limited experience of Mogs - in southern and central Africa - during general use the Mog will lag behind due to lack of speed but in Heavy going will more than hold its own. ------------------ ChrisC

Unimogs are the Mutts nuts for overland travel. Have just done Cambridge to Cape Town and the only thing we used the sand mats for was stretchering a bloke off the rugby field. Mog now for sale

Pleased you had a good trip.
What was your average cruising speed when on a reasonable road? If you are interested in selling what is the model, year of manufacture, number of engine hours and price you are asking? |
