iveco 4x4 radius arm bush

I have a Iveco Turbo Daily 40.10 short wheel base converted panel van.
Has anyone ever had to replace their radius arm bush??
Failed MOT, as the bushels have perished, the garage said it could be very expensive as it was a very labour intensive job, the parts are cheap, but apparently its a "mammoth job".
Not being that mechanically minded or knowing whats involved.
Is this a difficult job? How much should i expect to pay?
Any thoughts would be most welcome, many thanks..

No reply as yet.....he maybe on holiday. do you have a photo of the part or a part number, I have a parts manual and a workshop manual I can look it up if I know exactly what part it is or where it is. I have the same vehicle.

I'm not familiar with the Iveco, but radius arm bushes are usually within the bounds of a competent home mechanic with the right tools - 1" drive socket set, press, axle stands, trolley jack, etc.

The hardest part is getting the worn bushes out and the new bushes in, if you dont have a +-10 tonne press handy its a very difficult job to complete.

If the bushes are fitted into the chassis of the vehicle - like the older Landrover upper suspension bushes - leave it to an Iveco dealer who will have the appropriate mobile chassis press to get the bushes out of the chassis in no time at all.

Check with an Iveco dealer on the price of having the job done, with the right tools its usually a pretty straight forward job and a lot cheaper than the workshop that does not have the tools and ends up using the oxy set and hacksaw to get the bushes out.

You can speed things up a bit by giving the bushes/bolts a good soaking with WD40 and steam cleaning the underside of the vehicle before having the job done.

Hi Roger, thanks, what your saying seems to make sense, i think the bushes are fitted into the chasis of the iveco, the same as the landrover.
(Graeme i will try and find the part number)

There is an iveco dealer/servicer just down the road from me im going to call them after the bank holiday.

Had the work done. Tried getting quotes (nr Reading) from Iveco dealers, and independant garages, but they wouldnt quote, all said was labour intensive and the prices varied froom £50 - £86 (latter iveco dealer) p/hour.
However a very good garage which my bro used in Hereford £27 p/hour and more importantly they have experience of 4x4 and seem to know what theyre doing. Labour was £400 (14.5 hours work).....still damn site cheaper than where i live!!!

The garage is called Autocare Hereford should anyone need it....
