Overland Vehicles DVD

Hi ya,

I'm putting together a DVD/Vid of what mods people have made to overland vehicles, aimed at anybody that is wishing to buy and prepare a overland vehicle but isn't sure where to get started or would like to know what others have done.

The main, but by no means only, focus is on the camping, sleeping, cooking, electrical/solar and storage of fuel, water and all the rest. It's not on alloy wheels, lava lamps or fluffy dice (though I admit I have a soft spot for a carpeted dash)

This comes from the idea that anybody can stroll up and order a roofrack, new engine, winch and a set of shocks.

But storage, cooking, electrical requirements, sleeping, camping, comfort and the like is really where each person develops their own system and some are much better than others.

So anybody out there who would like to volunteer their vehicle? I would need about 2 hours of your time, and you don't have to be filmed if you don't want. I will come to you. I can offer two copies of the finished product as your meagre reward.

I have 10 vehicles filmed already, a mixture of 110's, Cruisers and 101's, but would like to get a few more of these plus a disco, unimog, more toyotas and anything else that people use (I have a citreon 2cv also).

Please contact me by email in the first instance.

Cheers!

I would suggest Andy le May's Discovery (200tdi) - visit www.overlandy.co.uk for details on the landy. Very neat example.

Thanks mate,

Will check it out. Your vehicle doesn't have to be smart or have had a lot of money spent on it - just practical or with a few good ideas that other might benefit from...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
