Michelin XS vs Goodyear G82

Hi everybody!
I'm planning to make a trip in North African countries, mostly in the Sahara desert, next year with my LR Defender 110. I plan to use Michelin XS 750R16 tires, but, unfortunately Michelin Turkey told me that they were unable to sell those tires because of some importation problems. What I think is to use Goodyear G82, which has almost the same pattern as XS's.
Does anyone give me a feedback about G82's sand performance, as well as its tarmac and mud capability? Both tires' comparison is highly appreciated if anyone used both.
Cheers!
