iveco 4x4 emissions london

Hi all
just had email regarding new emissions laws in london. Hvae friends on 406 with two kids so fully support apart from thw fact they included campers. Sorry but is there a huge camper community that blocks and polutes the roads that Im not aware of within the m25!

Can any one tell me where my 1993 40.10 w sits and how much to get upgraded and is it worth it. Just starting project and thinking weather its worth it!

While Im here 3 p0int unimog sub frame system with ball hitches, thinking of using to mount my body. Only concern is that it raises the floor level by the 30 cm is this going to be a problem regards stability. Am I really going to gain much benefit over refitting aftermarket copies of the original iveco rubber mounts.

Hope all are well, Hey Gramme hows that body coming along?

Mark.

It's going to be phased in over 3 years I believe? My diesel Land Rover will be caught in 2010, as will all other Landies and 4x4's if they are diesel. 2008 is massive trucks, 2009 most trucks and bigger vehicles, 2010 for pretty much anything over 1 tonne and diesel I think? It's hard to make any exclusions for different kinds of vehicles (though new ones are because they don't pollute at all!)

What I don't know is this just like the congestion charge where it only applies Mon-Fri between certain times?

I think it is a good thing, but then I'm not planning on being in London in 2010

Most people will just find a place outside of the m25 to store their vehicle or get rid of them, which seems to be the point of the exercise I guess. Maybe even friends in France etc

If you vehicle has a GVW of 2.5t or under and it is registered as a Motorcaravan then you are exempt (thankfully my T25 Syncro fits both of these categories, which is a shame as it might have forced my hand in leaving the smoke).

I don't think either the Landy or the Iveco fall in this weight category, do they?

Hi ya thanks for the replys, more are welcome, my iveco cut down to its cahasiss and cab are 2.4 tons. Been on web to day looking at the idea of running bio diesel for the emissions test and future running. Apparently running bio means you can get cert, gonna ring vosa tomorrow. Any body know what the score is on running bio diesel (refined) not veg oil. in a 1993 iveco engine

Hi all

phoned lez to day got name of manufactuers of particle exhaust system adastra really helpfull and very busy. Turns out that it is a large filter box taking out solid cabon molecules means new exhaust specially built and catylst dosing usnit that adds catlyst to fuel. all in all approx 3000 grand!

Being a pre euro engine will only make it euro 3 giving me 3/4 london years then they move to euro 5 standards. Apparently circus vehicles are excluded so its time to start spitting parafin oncegain

so looks like I have to store outside m25 after July, role on africa 2009

by the way Graeme thanks for pics looking good will stay in touch will send you pics soon

Does this mean they are requiring retro-fitting vehicles with newer emission control equipment? To Euro 3 or 4 currently? Just inside London or throughout the UK or EC?
Thank God we haven't gotten to that yet in the States though I'll bet California is watching carefully. It'll never happen in Alaska, though.
