iveco 40-10 seen on road to Vladivostok !

So ok this may just be a blatent way to say 'hi' to everyone !!!
But i really did meet some folks from Australia who hd just shipped their precious Iveco 40-10 4x4 into Vladivostok, we were heading East from Mongolia to get to Vladivostok.

Now in Korea, excellent in every way and free fast efficient internet (hence the posting !)

for those interested few photos of the 40-10 here :

Look what we found in Siberia ...

For those that may not yet know . . . . . . .
Having travelled through Europe, across Turkey, across Central Asia we finally got to Mongolia and toured that beautiful country.
Unfortunately part of that tour was upside down, yes I stupidly rolled the truck. The good news though got it bck on its feet and hastily hd cheap n quick repairs done to keep us moving.
We got through Russia (not withut incident!!!!!) and have now shipped vehicle and us to be in in Korea.

Want to see an upside down Iveco 35-10 4x4 ? :

Mongolia - truck problems !

Thank you for taking the time to show the pictures of your unfortunate experience in Mongolia.
May the rest of your journey be full of somewhat more pleasant memories.

what have you done

Hello Phil, what have you done to my van! I've recently caught up with your travels and its what the van was born for! Keep the update coming.

fantastic

Hi Josh
Good to hear from you.
Yep the truck has been (and still is) fantastic.
We are so pleased with it, really solid beast - perfect for Mongolia !
Right now in SOuth Korea - first decent tarmac for about 15oookms !
we are all enjoying it.

Phil ( And Angie says 'hi')

BTW - did you get the unimog ?

Josh R 10 Sep 2007 11:37

I did but it turned out to be a bit of a dog so I flogged it on, loads of air leaks and gearbox problems. They are just a bit more complex than the Iveco and with it brings all sorts of problems!

I've heard on the grapevine that Iveco are bringing out a new 4x4 later this year so I'm making enquiries for a new one, cheaper and bigger than a Defender with front and rear dif locks so we'll see how far my enquiries get.

I take it that neather of you guys were hurt when the van rolled? Good job it had that roll cage fitted. What happened, did you hit ruts at speed?

Good to hear from you, also see that you tried a spot of paragliding, adictive isn't it!

Josh
