Hilux engine swap 2.4D(2L) to 3.0D(5L)
Hi!
I have a nice possibility to change my engine 2.4D with one from Toyota Dyna from my company 3.0D. Will my 2L suit to Dyna gearbox? and vice versa? what problems can occur during such a swap? I have heard that in australia you can buy Hilux with 5L(3.0D) engine so I suppose there should be no problems? Am I right? pros are well known, more power and torque but cons are: my 2.4D have only 240.000km but my 3.0D is 340.000km but I think its in good condition. Do you think that I should do an engine rebuild during my swap? what do you think about such a swap? Is my Hilux after these swap will still be reliable? or will it make from my wehicle a small bomb just waiting for a good moment (in the middle of the marocan desert) to blow off? thanks for your help. Peter
