Grand Vitara TDi
I'm just asking for a friend who doesn't have access to the net- Twice now he's had a warning light on his dash saying that there's something wrong with the Engine Control Management system, after which it goes into a Get-you-home mode and loses power, but, eventually, at least does get him home. Taking it to the dealer will probably cost serious bucks, so he's wondering if anybody has had experience of this? It's behaving itself just at the moment but...?
Cheers, John ------------------ Johnefyn

A friend of mine runs the 2.0l V6 Vitara and the engine magagement system has done the reverse - the throttle sticks open. We have put it down to desert dust (the car lives in Cairo) and it hasnt recurred since the car was recently serviced.
That may not be a help
