fuel spec & prices
I am aware that it is a subject that has been discussed before, but I'm interested in finding a w/site that lists spec for diesel fuel. I'm not just looking just for prices though. I thought it would be useful to know things like sulphur content and cetane no....
thanks George |

cetane in different countries
Yes, i would also like to know about cetane levels in diesel in different countries, I've stumbled across something once apon a time and can't find it anymore. Any pointers appreciated! I know how what additives to add, but not what countries have the 'bad' fuel!
Travelling from Oz to Europe via SE Asia, India, Middle East thanks! |

If you are concerned about high sulphur or low cetane the usual procedure without worrying about every countries diesel spec is this.....
High sulphur - use an engine oil with a high 'total base number' - TBN, such as Millers oil sell. This will counter the effects of high sulphur. Low cetane - use a fuel additive such as Millers diesel plus or whatever the latest incarnation is. High cetane - enjoy the power ! Tom Sheppard covers the subject in great depth in his expedition handbook. Hope this helps. Andrew. |
