Extenal Aerials on 4wd Unwanted Attention

hi

my landcruiser has 3 external aerials on the bullbar, 1 x uhf , 1 x aerial for mobile phone , & 1 x sat phone (sat phone was supplied by work) so might as well keep it.

will this draw unwanted attention, looks like any other 4wd in Australia however over seas is differenet story maybe?

Depends where you are going - quite a few countries get very jumpy about 2 way radio communications so yes it could cause issues.

Paint it white, if it isn't already, stick some large blue UN lettering on the sides, bonnet and rear end, and you are ready to go just about anywhere!

(It's just a joke, before those who are very precious about such "trademarks" react).

Mind you, for the full effect, you should have a whip antennae that is at least 20 foot long and tied back to the roof of the vehicle for the full-on effect.

Well you can remove the UHF one for a start , as they are short range only and there is very little commonality of frequency around the world . having two relatively short antenna is quite common , eg ICE and mobile phone , Its the big self tuning HF that attract attention . HTSH

thanks had a patrol sold it bought a cruiser, i'll remove the UHF it will be no more use after it leaves here, dont need a sat phone but if its free why not keep it, and the high gain antenna for the mobile is very handy. i can screw them off but the base is still there.
