Wink Leaving on a Friday...

Hi everybody,

We have booked our ferry tickets for the 1st of December for the start of our 'long road trip south', yes its a friday but we are ignoring that fact.
We are off on our trip of a life time from the UK (robs parents, just north of Bristol) to South Africa (Ally's parents in Cape town) in our defender 110.
Check out our website, www.longroadtripsouth.com, to see how we do, we have not been to good with the updates at the moment due to it being the last week and we are running around like headless chickens, that would be an interesting photo. Hopefully once we get a bit more relaxed we will update.

Thanks to all the people that have helped us with our questions on forums.

See you on the road

Rob and Ally

Thumbs up Wishing you all the best

Dear Guy and Marie,

Just a quick note to say good luck for your journey ahead - use the force!!

I will be departing with a good friend in almost exactly a year's time to follow in your footsteps and then to complete the return journey back up the east coast.

Keep the forum and your website as up to date as you can, there are sure to be regular viewers of both and I assure you I'll be one of them!!

Hi

the website is very good - really informative.

The Landie loks great - I presume your dad did most of the work, it looks very professional - you should hire him out!

Good luck with the trip, and enjoy.

I guess you won't see this now before you leave, but good luck and I'll follow your progress with interest on your web-site.

I hope you're sea sick!

No I'm just jealous that's all.
Spare a thought for those of us trapped in boring jobs, trying to work out when I can next afford a big trip.
Enjoy it! I know you will.

New to Horizons Unlimited?

New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Horizons Unlimited was founded in 1997 by Grant and Susan Johnson following their journey around the world on a BMW R80G/S.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
