Camper Rooves

Does anyone have any experience of using lifting roofs on a Landy/TLC? I've found a couple of European websites http://www.lyndi.at/Autos/Auto_05.htm http://www.innovation-campers.de/d_home.html
that do the kind of thing I was looking for - does anyone know whats hot and whats not, what leaks and what collapses etc? Any info useful.

A friend of mine has a Lyndi converted LR 110. It's a very neat job, well engineered and executed. Never heard him complaining during two Saharan trips (especially about water leaks!). It's pretty expensive though (ca the price of a new 110.

I guess it's best to spek to Lyndi. If I can remember the figure, the price mendioned for a new LR 110 TD5 with with all bits and bobs was in the region of 40k UKP.

We have our 110 SW converted to a lift roof camper summer 2000. Very neatly done by Fowley specialst vehicles in Roydon, North of London. Their roof is very similar to Special Mobils in Germany (as is Lyndi) but a fraction of the cost. Ours cost about £1700 but was the guinea pig and they kept our roof. I expect the cost is now about £2500. This is an realy good conversion which we're very happy with. Any more info email me or contact Peter Fowley.
