broken turbo hdj 80. they do brake don't they ?

Hi All !

To-day we realized, the EXAUST MANIFOLD and the TURBO BODY both got a nice little gap.

Apparently one E.M. bolt broke long a go and provoked all this.

Obviously we must fix that properly for our trip to Mauritania.

Do you guys happen to know somebody who sells those parts, well... not too expensive ?

Or any advice ?

Thanks a lot.

Your best bet is to contact Maarten at Toptab Themeset - he does an uprated 'sport' turbo for a cheapper rpice than you will be ablle to get a replacement from Toyota.

The Turbo is and uprated one that can handle higher boost pressures, something that ight help in your quest for more power.

All american web page does not work for me. I'll give them a call and find out. By the way, I'll ask information about the intercooler.

cheers.

ALL AMERICAN:
Turbo: 1228.00
Intercooler: 1411.25

I also found out about those people:

However I now nothing about them.

They do make replacement turbos and other bits.

All American web page shall be under construction for some time.

I finally ordered a turbo from All American. All other cheaper options looked a bit risky. I'll keep you informed

Well... my old Series III never broke no turbo.

Their last siter was work in progress for a couple of years and this latest one is exactly the same - I suspect that they have so much work (because they are good at it) that doing their website is a low priority.

A bit of a copy out, but your best bet is to either call or email them for a prompt response.

Question - not quite OT

Julian, you don't happen to know which brand of long range fuel tanks all american sell do you? I bought one from them, it is currently on the way to me and am curious!!! Assume it is Ozzy 'longranger' or ? Very prompt service but. Shame about the site though...

Sorry, don't know that - I'm surprised that you didn't ask before purchasing ;-)

gilghana1 27 Jun 2007 13:48

I "strongly suspected" it was an Australian Longranger - George did send me detailed pictures of the tank... So I pretty much knew what I was buying was made right! And he confirmed just now that it is a Longranger :-)

That's good - they take a LC fuel guage so that you can wire it up to be able to check the level in the reserve, something you can't do with other tanks.
