Sorry, can't help with the G90s in India - what about MRF..? Good solid tyres and should be cheap there. A spare on the bonnet is quite possible but you need a reinforcing and mounting plate, as to safety, well on my 110 it was safer with the wheel on the bonnet as the catch was a bit dodgy and the spare used to regularly stop the bonnet going through the windscreen - in fact that was it's main job!

Tyres on bonnet

Yes, perfectly safe on Defs older than new style post-td5. They have weaker bonnets than the Series III but its still fine as long as you dont then walk on the bonnet as well - if you do so it dishes the bonnet in and catches on the fan cowling - simple solution, take bonnet off, invert with a brick at each corner, and jump up and down on it to straighten it :)

Ive had a heavy spare on the bonnet for almost 10 years now on various horrible African roads and its been fine :)

As said, there is a mounting kit, or get hold of a bonnet with the kit already attached.
Ok with 7.50x16 tyres, but anything wider really obscures your view.

On the plus side, apparantly it helps the aerodynamics :wheelchair:
