Wanted: overland vehicle in SA

Hi,

We're looking for a vehicle for our overland trip starting from South Africa. Practicality dictates a preference for a Toyota (cruiser or hilux) but our hearts could be swayed by a Landy if the price and condition are right! It would be nice if it was already prepped but as long as its got a roofrack and preferably an extra tank then it might be of interest.

I'm in the Eastern Cape at the moment and we want to leave by mid-September so anything that pops up between now and then would be of interest.

Cheers,

Ollie

I was looking at buying this Magirus in 2006 which is (was?) located in Johannisburg.

The owner told me that after travelling down to SA from Europe he used it only for holidays.

It's a bit larger than a Hilux or a Landy, but anyway...

His website offering the vehicle is still online, so have a look: Welcome to Your Site

Lars

Cheers for the suggestion Lars but think something a bit smaller might be a bit more manageable! Found a few options but not the perfect one just yet!

Are you still looking?

I have a Hilux that's fully kitted out and Safari Ready. I may be able to be persuaded to part with it....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
