For sale Toyota LandCruiser 4WD TD in South America

For sale Toyota LandCruiser Colorado GXTD, Turbo-Diesel, Manual transmission, 4-Wheel Drive, 3L-engine, twin batteries, UK-registered 1997 (RHD), with only 120, 000 miles... this is nothing for a LandCruiser, she is ready for more!

Condition: in great shape, no rust, no bumps, expedition ready, has been treated properly with schedule maintenance.
It does not need any mechanical work done do it, but we would suggest a rear draw system instead of the current boxes system (simple and easy to do or get done in South America).

Equipment: Maggiolina Roof Top Tent (version Extreme, gray, incorporates roof rack), Custom-made Roof rack carrying four jerry-cans, 4 Thule Bars, Spare parts, recovery equipment and other camping equipment (air filter, fuel filter, jack and jack stands, sand ladders, tow strap, fire extinguishers, shovel, axe, ropes, gas bottle, ect.)

Modifications: Rear modified for storage and organisation, and indoor sleeping facility

Work done : 2 new batteries, 4 new tires, oil-changed every 6000km, all fluids changed (gearbox, differential, breaks, radiator), new fuel and air filters, undercarriage oiled, driveshaft greased regularly

Safety Features: Airbag Driver, Airbag Passenger, Safety Belt Pretensioners, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Immobiliser, Alarm, Rear seat belts, Power Locks
Exterior Features: 7 All-Terrain tires (4 new tires, 2 Yokohama and 2 Khumo, and 3 spare tires), Alloy Wheels, Catalytic Converter, Towbar, Side step both sides, Spot lights (one cracked)
Interior/Comfort: Air Conditioning (currently disconnected), Remote Central Locking, Electric Windows, Power Steering, Power Windows, Tilt Steering Wheel, Radio, CD Player
Paperwork: V5 Registration Document, Service history with documents and receipts proving regular maintenance from new

History: We have traveled 16 000km in South America and the car has given us no problems, in neither cold, hot, elevated or humid conditions, driven through mountains, rivers, deserts and jungles !
Reason for selling : We don’t actually want to sell Cruz ! But the shipping costs once more are prohibitive to bring her back to the UK. Perfect for someone wanting to do the same trip as it is already on the continent so you save on shipping costs, and you know you are getting a sturdy car which has been test driven through all conditions.

If you are interested or need to know anything else then don’t hesitate to ask. You can e-mail me, I’ll be more than happy to help. Please bear in mind I may not reply straight away as we will be in the Amazon in the coming days. Thanks, John.

Cruz now has new rear suspension (Australian heavy duty IronMan)
Also the number of spare tires is 2.

We are currently in Peru and making our way up north, towards Ecuador and Colombia - but can leave the car elsewhere if needed.

Landcruiser for sale

Hey,

Yes, it is still for sale. We are currently in Colombia but if it works out, I am sure we can try and get around that hurdle.

Are you a British citizen? It is a British registered vehicle.

Kind regards,
John and Isabelle

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
