General Condition
Paint is original, so it’s got some nicks and isn’t perfect, but looks good and I do have 5 Cans of Sherwin Williams Custom color matched spray cans of paint for touch up.

Everything works, all gauges, lights (interior/exterior), intermittent wipers, etc. The best thing I can say is that I wouldn’t hesitate to take the rig through South America today, and it has been my daily driver since I got it. Runs excellently on either gas or propane, and can be filled at any U.S. location that fills propane tanks. I’ll be happy to go over the entire propane system with the new owner.

With the overdrive, I’ve seen 16-17 mpg or more on the highway, fully loaded. It likes to cruise at 67-70mph on the highway. There are some small rust spots on the front bib, passenger side apron (behind the emblem), and in the driver’s side footwell, but in general it would be easily suitable for a restoration. It could use an oil pan gasket, as it is weeping, along with a couple other gaskets, but other than a couple of drips, no real issues. The headliner is in good condition, but does have some small sagging in a couple of places, along with a 4 inch tear towards the rear. At some point in time, it apparently had a large roof rack, and the rain gutters have a couple of bends in ‘em.

Is the Troopy perfect, no, but it is one of the cleanest examples of a 26 year old 40 series I’ve seen without being a restoration. I’d be happy to provide pictures upon request of anything specific.

I’ve recently replaced the door weatherstripping, front and rear, with OEM, along with other odds and ends (hinges, belt, hoses, water pump, thermostat, clutch master & slave cyls.). Runs and drives very tightly. Spares kit is included: Hoses, belt, ignition components, etc.; along with other original items I removed during the build, such as the OEM AM Radio, rubber floormat, etc.

Registered as a 1980 Land Cruiser, with an Arizona title (1981+ World Market Land Cruisers retained the 10 digit VIN). Imported in September of 2007, with a build date of 9/82. It has been through an Arizona Stage II inspection for registration,(meaning #s match etc.).

Also, I have a power steering conversion coming from Australia, using right hand drive mini truck parts. Buyer will have first right of refusal to purchase the parts for what I paid to get ‘em here. (Approx. $700.00.)

Why am I selling? Well...to get another Land Cruiser, of course! My HOA requires me to park in the garage...so much like the Highlander.... "There can be only one."

Fly into Flagstaff’s airport and drive her home! I’ll have it prepped with a fresh oil change, (OEM filter of course!), and both propane and petrol tanks full!

PM me with questions.

Andrew

Rear Cargo Area: Engel Fridge NOT included.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
