Toyota Land Cruiser Overland For Sale

Toyota Land Cruiser Overland Modified
This is a 1993 Automatic Land Cruiser VX with 1HD 4.2 litre Turbo Diesel.

We bought this car three years ago and we are its third owners.
We modified it for two years to do an overland trip through Africa and South America. The car has been designed to make

a long distance travel with four adults.
We are now in South America and due to change of plans (pregnecy) and earlier finish of the trip, the car is for sale.
The new owner can collect it in South America or we can negotiate a shipment to Europe etc. The car can fit in a 20 ft container.
The car had a full service history before we started doing modifications and since

we’ve been on the trip we are doing all necessary maintenance as advised by Toyota. (filter and oil change every 6,000 miles, etc.)

List of modifications/upgrades/maintenance;
·Changed rear discs before the trip
·Stainless steel brake pipes
·Differential has been fully serviced (rear and front)
·16 inch steel wheels (bought from Toyota)
·BF Goodrich Mud terrains

·Old Man Emu suspension
·Heavy duty Koni Raid shock absorbers
·Polypro bushes
·New Big Endberings
·New radiator
·Serviced Injectors
·New transmition fluid
·Serviced rear brake callipers
·Changed transfer case oil
·Hot water shower system with Sure Flow pump
·Split charge system National Luna, with two extra Optima Yellow Top 75 amp/h batteries
·Mad Man sensor (measures pitch and roll, boost pressure, exhaust temperature, voltage, coolant temperature, automatic transmition temperature)
·Extra radiator for automatic transmition
·National Luna Dual 12V battery monitor
·600V Pure Sign Inverter (UK plug, with remote control)
· Viair Compressor with the tank and pressure gage mounted on the car
·Long Ranger 160 litre fuel tank with dual funnel (altogether the car can take up to 250 litres of diesel)
·Custom made stainless steel (to take the minimum space) 170 litre water tank with Sure Flow pump, with the marine filter (and two spare filters)
·Custom made drawer system with secret compartment
·Custom made side hatches for easy access
· Tail gate hatch modified for maximum storage space
·40 litre Engel Fridge/Freezer
·12000 pound winch with control box positioned under the bonnet
·Custom made bull bar for maximum approach angle and high lift jack jacking points and recovery points
·Old Man Emu 4x4 steering stabiliser
·Custom made rock sliders with jacking points
·Custom made rear bumper (with spare tyre carrier and three jerry can carrier on a swing arms) with jacking and recovery points
·Custom made roof rack to accept two roof tents, camping table, 5 ft extreme high lift jack, two sand/bridging ladders, custom made 2x2 fabric owning, two safari lights
·Safari snorkel for clear air intake
·Eezi Own roof tent (2.40 x 1.40)
·Tinted windows 3M (work fantastic in a hot weather)

The car has done 170,000 miles so far.
It is equipped with automatic air-conditioning (though new air-conditioning clutch is needed), front and rear diff locks, electric windows, mirrors, rear fog lights, etc.
We replaced the seats for the maximum space and to accommodate the fridge between the driver and the co driver. The front seats are from Mercedes and the rear ones are from VW Golf.
For the same reason the handles have been removed from the sides of the doors and the all sides have been fitted with the new material.
Flooring has been removed and replaced with the rubber mat for sound proofing and painted with the rubbery paint (for garage floor or slippery stairs) for easy cleaning after off-roading.
Seats include removable seat covers for easy washing.
There are a lot of small bits and pieced that we’ve done on the car before the trip and on the trip that are too hard to remember and it would be boring to write all of them.

With the vehicle we will leave some useful camping and recovery gear, tools and spares. To name some; for recovery we will leave bow shackles, 16 ton rope,ARB tree protector, recovery gloves, high lift jack, winch operating gear and some other recovery items. Camping wise we will leave plastic storage boxes (for food supplies), 4 chairs, gas cooker, table, electric extension lead and other useful stuff. As of tools, there is a grinder with spare cutting and grinding discs, drill, electrical box with fuses and wires and spares for maintaining the car’s electric system, spare bolts and nuts and other similar accessories. And for spares we’ve got spare oil and fuel filters, air filter, timing belt, alternator belt, air-conditioning belt, front disc pads, transmition fluid oil, 3 fire extinguishers, spare alternator, lights and other similar maintenance parts.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
