South African registered epic overlanding Toyota 4x4 for sale in Pretoria

Price: R130,000 (US$12,500)
1999 Toyota Hilux 4x4 single cab with reinforced canopy.
Manual 4WD
3 litre diesel engine
245,600km
Safari suspension

You can view photos of the vehicle by clicking through to this advert on gumtree: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-bakkies-c...30910199394709

We are just completing 5 months travelling around Southern Africa and have the car set up with everything we needed - so, basically, it is good to go on its next adventure as soon as it's bought. We're very keen to sell it with everything included.

Overlanding features:
- Garmin GPS and with the most recent Tracks for Africa
- 18 litre Engel fridge (bought new in January and till under warranty)
- Secondary fuel tank (takes 140 litres)
- Dual battery system (the deep cycle battery is only 5 months old)
- Inverter (to convert battery power to mains)
- Water tank with tap (takes 70 litres)
- Hannibal roof top tent
- All bedding - blankets, sheet, pillows
- Awning & bar set up
- Air conditioning
- Custom-made roll out storage system and Safari Centre ammo storage crates.
- 2 x 3 litre gas bottles and gas cooking tops
- Cooking equipment (pots, pans, enamel plate/bowl/cup set, cutlery, etc)
- Tool box (various vital bits and pieces)
- Air compressor and tyre gauge
- 2 x steel safes secured to the body of the car for valuables (one in the cab and one in the canopy)
- Combination safe for spare key storage welded under the car
- Gear lock (good for insurance purposes)
- Spade
- Hi-lift jack
- 2 x spare wheels
- Picnic table and two picnic chairs

Blue Lightning is our baby and we are very sad to see her go. It is truly an epic vehicle. Unfortunately, our trip has been cut short a bit prematurely, so she's on the market. We'll only sell her to really cool people.

We're New Zealanders and bought the car in South Africa because with the South African registration, you do not need a carnet de passage for most of the Southern African countries. If you are a foreigner interested in buying an overlanding vehicle, we can help you through the process (let you know the admin required) to put the car in your name.

We're currently in Namibia and will be in Pretoria by 8 June. We can arrange viewings of the bakkie from that time. Please contact us by email at anthea.markstein@gmail.com and thomas.charteris@gmail.com. Once we are in South Africa, we will provide a South African mobile number.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
