Land Rover Defender 110 white hardtop, expedition ready for sale

Overland ready Land Rover Defender 110 hardtop (white) specials vehicle. This truck has just completed a year long trip throughout Africa and we have owned the vehicle since July 2009. Unfortunately we have no service history before this point, but in truth as our service history below shows, almost every single part has been replaced since owning the car and it has been serviced every 6000miles without fail.
It is a 1997 model and the engine was completely rebuilt in South Africa by one of the country’s finest motor engineers Trevor Ramasammi (previously commissioned by Land Rover to fix gearbox problems). Arriving in South Africa, the engine was consuming too much oil so the decision was made to strip it as a preventative measure so that we would safely complete the West coast back to the UK. As the service history shows, this was a complete rebuild, effectively giving a brand new engine and we made it home with no issues.
The engine now has 17, 000 miles on it, as you know, these motors will normally give well over 100, 000 miles without blinking. The odometer now reads 156, 398 and the engine was rebuilt at 139, 000.
Throughout the trip the car was serviced every 6000miles and oil, brake, power steering, clutch and water levels were checked daily.
We covered 31,000 miles in the car and it was amazingly reliable. Only twice in one year did it leave us sitting beside the road and each time it was due to dirt in the fuel line. The tank has now been drained and cleaned.
All of the body panels are straight, apart from the passenger front wing which has a dent. However the paintwork is not damaged and view it clearly in the photos.
The car is being sold as a ready-to-go expedition vehicle. Therefore it includes the rooftent, roofrack, awning, fridge, electrical system, cooker, storage system, safe, water container, sand ladders & tracmats, winch & strops/shackles, jerry cans, two boxes of spares and so much more (all of which is listed below). We are selling everything that we took with us on a year long Africa trip, there really is everything you could possibly need included and the car is serviced and ready to go. MOT until April 2012 and taxed until April 2012.
Since returning home we’ve just serviced the car again, fitting a whole host of new parts and would have absolutely no hesitation in taking it immediately back to Africa, but sadly for us the real world and jobs beckon.
So reluctantly, the whole lot is up for sale for the sum of £10, 050.
Please follow ToHelAndBack - For Saleto our website for full spec & to view a full service history and photographs so that you can clearly see what is being sold. Our website: ToHelAndBack - Home.

Thanks, Carl and Tom.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
