Motorcycle Carrier for Defender 110, UK

Derbyshire, UK.

This is a custom made, extremely tough, off-road motorcycle carrier for a Defender 110.

If you need the ability to carry a motorbike outside the vehicle off-road there's probably no better way of doing it. It keeps the weight as low as possible, yet due to the hinged design, allows the vehicles departure angle to be maintained when the rack rises (either winched up with straps, or automatically, if the bash-plate makes contact with the ground).

The bike's suspension controls the movement of the rack, which is smooth/damped over bumps- I can guarantee it works fine even driving off anything up to 7 meter drops at any speed with a 175kg bike on it- it's even tougher than the Defender!

When the car is up to the axles in sand/mud the rack is just clear of the ground. Aluminium bash-plates included allow forward motion to be maintained over uneven terrain.

Includes fittings. Fits to the Defender chassis, requires drilling of existing brackets on the defender chassis. Requires slight trimming of body panels too. The only real limitation I found is the bike needs to be unloaded to open the back door wide for full access to items of luggage.

Just used for one trip, selling due to emigration to Aus. It cost me £400, the company that made it went bankrupt, reportedly for underpricing their work. However I've had value for money from it, it probably wants a coat of paint too, so I'm asking for £100.
