looking to rent or buy 4WD in B Aires or Santaiago

Hi all,

Has anyone know of any rental places in B Aires or Santiago for 4WD or pick up. Do the companies allow to take the vehicle outside of the country in which the rental company operates? We plan to tour around South America for 1-2 months.
Alternatively, we would buy an old 4WD or pick up. We are coming soon by the end of FEB 2010.

Thanks for any infos in advance.
cheers

Van for sale in Chile

Hi there. Don't know if you're interested if it's not a 4x4, but we're selling our Ford Aerostar Van (which we bought in Santiago). 1993 model. we took it through Chile, Peru and Ecuador, and then back. See above post or contact me if you have any other queries, glad to help. Chile was a difficult border crossing, but we got through using a chaffeur. Ecuador was so easy we crossed through without knowing and had to drive back into Peru on a different road to find a post to stamp our papers!

Cheers
