Landcruiser HZJ75 98' 4.2TD Pickup (UK)

Very Rare 1998 Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75 4WD Pickup Truck, just 58k miles

Here is my Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75 4.2 Turbo Diesel Pickup. It is very rare being one of a handful that were officially imported by Toyota into the UK making them very sought after. Well known as the ultimate remote area off road vehicle being mechanically very simple and reliable these vehicles have a first class reputation in Australia, Africa and other parts of the world for taking harsh conditions in their stride

This one first registered in the UK as new on 1st September 1998 and i am its third owner.

Its first owner used it to tow an flash exhibition trailer to and from shows. It can officially tow a 3500kg trailer at the same time carrying 1000kg on the back. The turbo was fitted by the same official Toyota agent to the 1HZ engine giving it great power while still being good on fuel.

Serviced every year whatever the miles and I can guarantee that it has done just 58000 miles, all on UK roads. New timing belt fitted on its 55k service. It has the 4.2 1HZ engine with a Turbo fitted by the Toyota agent. This engine often does 500,000 miles so its hardly run in. This one has the indestructible H55F gearbox.

Most other 75 series in the UK are imported from Australia with many having hidden pasts of being unregistered mine trucks and having very hard lives. This is a genuine UK registered truck with no hidden past whatsoever. You will certainly not find a better one.

I purchased it in October 2010 with the idea to convert it to a camper but my plans have changed. I have had an ARB winch bumper with a Warn 9000 winch, plus a snorkel fitted. The load area was ply lined from new.

All in all a great truck and certainly one of the best and lowest mileage ones in the UK.

My personal registration has been removed and the truck is now back on it original registration number of S98 TAV.

Any questions feel free to ask (colin at otus.co.uk)

£11000.00 o.n.o (No VAT to pay)

I do have several interested. One guy came to see it and strangely said its in to good condition for him, I think he wanted a cheap one to restore.

I put it in for an MOT yesterday and it went straight through as I expected it to. Not even a warning. here is the MOT history

Sep 2002 16711 miles
Oct 2003 21020 miles
Oct 2004 30768 miles
Oct 2005 34732 miles
Sep 2006 38481 miles
Nov 2007 43788 miles
Nov 2008 48507 miles
Sep 2010 57783 miles
Oct 2011 58403 miles

Those trying to get an insurance quote using the registration

It was first S98 TUV when first registered on 1st Sept 1998, the 2nd owner put his own plate on which was R10 UTE and I had my own plate 903CRC. It back on its original plate now but if you are asked for a reg try 903CRC as the records may not show S98TUV for 2 or 3 months when the DVLA do thier next update.

I insure with NFU

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
