Sankey Camping Trailer

I’ve decided to sell my Sankey trailer simply because it’s not getting used as a camping trailer and I need the space.

It is the newer wide track with disc brakes and with the lower set tow ring. Hence it rides a little better when it’s behind a normal (non lifted) vehicle. I bought it around 18 months ago I had looked at a few which were quite simply junk, so came to the conclusion you get what you pay for! It‘s been across Spain and Morocco and as you would expect it performed without any problems. They really are built to a high specification . It is extremely stable and you tend to forget it’s there!

As you can see I’ve converted it to a camping trailer. Rear section is partitioned from the front. The rear lid lifts off and has folding legs attached so it converts in to table. Front section is on gas struts and has a spare attached along with some roof bars which are useful for things like camping chairs etc. Of course all the above could be un done to put it back to original spec. Lid’s are marine ply. Unfortunately water has penetrated at one point so the front section will need some repair or replacement.

The only down side is its weight so I had thought of removing the tub and replacing with something like:
Storage Box

And then adding a roof tent.

If you search eBay you will find loads of cheap junk but they are bordering on scrap. I’ll also throw in a spare wheel bearing which was around £50.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
