Land Rover 127/130 Ambulance Camper

1988 Land Rover Ambulance ex-RAF, Marshall-bodied 127 Ambulance with 3.5 Litre V8 engine. It's done 94,000 miles (72,000 by us since de-mob 7 years ago), regularly serviced, oil-changes, fluids, etc. Has dual-fuel LPG conversion (original 80 litre petrol tank still in place) and camper conversion in the rear (stove, sink, cupboards, pull-out bed, etc) Kitted out as a camper van with a seat that turns into a double bed, 2 x wardrobes, various cupboards, sink & gas rings x 2. I have included pictures pre fit-out so you can see position of LPG etc.

Fantastic for a weekend camper, expedition vehicle, surf bus, etc. As an ex-RAF vehicle, it only did 22,000 miles in service and suffered none of the abuse of the ex-army ones. In the 7 years since release, we’ve camped in her all over England, Wales & Scotland, been to Spain and dozens of festivals. After much heartache I’ve decided to sell her purely to upgrade to a newer Wolf-spec model. Always been properly maintained, oil changes every 3,000 miles, etc. Can be viewed in Somerset or London & possibly elsewhere with a bit of notice as with the improving weather, we're likely to be out camping in her at weekends. e-mail me for photos

Good Stuff

Taxed until April 2013, MOT until June 2013

LPG Conversion by RPI Engineering (twin 120 Litre tanks, good for nearly 500 miles before refuelling)

Professional Chassis Waxoyling by Before'n'After

Original LT85 gearbox replaced with R380

Pioneer 60 Watt stereo system with 2 pairs Infinity Kappa 6x9 speakers (1 pair in cab and 1 in rear), sub-woofer, iPod and auxiliary phono interfaces

Proper 3-way split-charge electrical system with 1 Main & 2 Auxiliary 110Amp/Hour batteries & 150W inverter

Eberspacher blown-air heater

Sound insulation throughout cab and transmission tunnel

Upgraded Suspension as follows:

· Military-spec green-pink springs (rated 8 tonnes/metre)

· OME Steering Damper

· Koni Heavy Tracks Shocks

Full Military-spec roof-rack

Upgraded Range-Rover exhaust

Full under body protection (steering guard, track rod guard, front & rear diff guards, petrol tank guard)

Checker-plate bonnet & wings

Bad Stuff

A few minor bumps and scrapes (but less than you’d expect on any other 25-year old Land Rover)

Faded paintwork

Rear door dented but have a spare door ready to fit

Looking for £8,000 ONO

Note

Depending on your requirements, I am happy to remove various items as lots of it can be re-used on my next vehicle. I will reduce price accordingly as follows:

· £400 remove all underbody protection

· £300 remove all Stereo

· £400 remove all auxiliary electrics, cables & batteries

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
