Iveco 40-10wm police vans

A dealer has got a load of these in at what look like good prices compared to others that are looking for 8000 euros for the same trucks

Used trucks for sale - Buy used trucks in Europe | Hulleman Trucks

The one i've seen in the flesh also came with 2 webasto cab heaters (can't have the poor riot police getting cold)

Hope this helps someone out. They are plated at 4.45 tonnes though so check you can drive that weight . ideal for camper conversion.

I have no connection with them - it was a link posted to my iveco 4x4 list

Do you not think this will spread to other UK cities??

Hi Rich

OT I know but can you answer me this question: how many seats in a LR forward control? Can ir seat 6 comfortably or are the extra seats utilitarian jump seats?

Cheers mate!

rclafton 15 Feb 2012 14:59

No seats are comfortable in a 101 fc (not true if you swap out for smart car / fiesta etc in the front)

If you are talking GS then 2 in the front, the standard military seats are side facing and not comfortable for even short distances. Option would be to put forward facing bus seats in the back with seat belts - they can be got off ebay for pennies but do take up a fair bit of space. Ambulances use the stretcher bases as seats , i think they could sit 8 seated casulties but again sideways and you can't see a thing

Was enquiring on behalf of a friend looking to go on safari with a family of 6. Am looking for suggestions.

Hi I am very intrested in these iveco ex police vans ,what can I exspect mpg wise also whats the engine size,2.5 or 2.8 any advice would appreciated

rclafton 19 Feb 2012 19:27

Hi steve

they will be 2.5 litre engines at that age

theres no real difference in power between the 2.5 and 2.8

you'll get low 20's to the gallon - a bit improved if you install an intercooler. Engine power is about the same as a Tdi

They come standard with alot of kit , bashplates for sump and transfer box, rear locking diff, you can fit a 3rd seat in the cab

The one I saw last year also came with 2 webasto night heaters

So compared to a landrover you are getting alot for your money

Just check your license - I believe they are plated at 4.45 tonnes (minimum will be 4.05 tonnes).

Already:rofl:

Not really fast though

... and while they manage 104kph, they really aren't comfortable above 80. Very nice drive at around 60kph though, which will be good for the mileage...

Very nice vehicles ones you're there, but not so cool for 2 or 3 weeks if you want to cover some distance over european motorways.

locking diffs on the axles, two webasto heaters, light armor, not so well insulated box, ...

Iveco police vans

Hi all,

Looks like most of these have now been sold. Anyone get one?

rclafton 13 May 2012 22:09

No ones popped up on the Iveco email list with one of those particular ones.

We did have one at the RGS workshop last year , nice trucks , biggest downside i can see is that they ru on 255/100/16 (900x16) so you'll forever be searching for tyres

Phil bought an ex red cross Iveco from scotland
