Expedition Prepared Landrover Defender 110 200tdi ex-MOD FFR 1990 LHD

Expedition Prepared Landrover Defender 110 200tdi ex-MOD FFR 1990 LHD 95,000 miles.

Impending wedding forces sale!!

This vehicle was bought from the MOD in 2000 with ca 30,000 miles and used for an overland trip in Latin america 2001-2003 (ihana.com). Since then it had been parked up until 2006 when it was fully refurbished including -

200tdi engine (bought second hand, 80,000kms)
Allisport Intercooler and new radiator
Silicon hoses
snorkel
a bar
light guards
five new Michelins XZL
swing away rear wheel carrier
re-conditioned gearbox
disco transfer box gears
new clutch
new shocks all round with double on rear
new fuel tank.
45l wing tank plus 4 20l jerrys giving total capacity 205l. range 1600km
2 20l water jerrys
disc brakes all round with steel hoses (original rear axle replaced)
X-Eng disc handbrake
Stainless Steel exhaust
WaxOiled chassis
Super-strong re-inforced internal dog guard
Security mesh on rear windows and rear window replaced with steel plate
dead locks on all doors
Safe (behind bulkhead)
Cubby Box
split charge system, two batteries (one new)
battery isolator switch
immobilizer
400 watt amplifer, various speakers, (head unit in questionable condition!)
Webasto pre-heater (needs maintenance)
heated windscreen
Brownchurch roofrack
Eezi-awn rooftent
4 extra front spotlights
rear inspection light
rear internal strip light
front and rear diff protectors
Hi Lift jack
grip trax
fibreglass sand ladders
recovery equipment (shackles, tree strop)
various spares
fire extinguisher
colemean double burner cooker (new)

Current MOT expires in July (taxed until August), however it has only done 1500 miles since last MOT so would pass easily.

negatives -
the bodywork is dented in places but its all cosmetic dings - some rock sliders would probably look good but not essential.
spots and stereo need to be wired up. generally the wiring is not brilliant but everything is currently working.
cubby box needs to be bolted down
roofrack could do with being re-boarded

The vehicle is currently parked in Zurich. Feel free to post any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

Very good website and funny text to go with it here, showing plenty of pictures of the 110

this pic shows the roof tent setup. Since the trip the engine was replaced with a reconditioned 200tdi, reconditioned gearbox and the transfer box gears replaced with Disco ones (gives top speed of 120kph).

That front spat has been replaced and the tyres are all new (plus all the other upgrades above) but otherwise looks pretty similar, if (a bit) cleaner!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
