China Overland September 15

Hi
we are looking for some fellow overlanders to travel through China with in Sept 15. Most probable route will be to enter from Mongolia and exit in Laos, the bits in between can be negotiated but will take a minimum of 3 wks but more likely 4.
We are leaving the Uk around April/May and travelling through the Stans (avoiding Afghanistan and Iran) so anyone who wanted to do the same would be welcome to join en route -the more the merrier
We have a VW syncro and there will be three of us travelling, do get in touch if you think you would like to join us on part of the journey

No Responce

Hi,

Just reading your blog, I think you should move your request to the area on Horizon Unlimited entitled Travellers Seeking Travellers I am sure you will get a good response there.
Hope this helps and good luck with your amazing planned trip, we have just completed the same trip this year.

If we can be of any help with info don't hesitate to ask

thanks

Thanks for the advice, that does seem more sensible - I have been on a couple of other forums and have sort of been put off driving through China due to the difficulty of shipping out of south east Asia plus the expense. So not sure now if we are just going to drive to Vladivostok and then ship to Seattle - while the vehicle is being shipped then we can back pack round China. However that all said my husband John is still keen to drive if we can find a suitable option of shipping.
Do you have a blog or website? would love to ask lots of questions about your trip. What route did you take and what vehicle did you use? Any top tips gratefully received

passports

Hi
Did you have much trouble getting the second passport? We will probably have the same problem as you, clashing times for visas but I read on a thread on here that you need to have a reason for needing a second one and not being able to get visas in time isn't good enough?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
