SOUTH AMERICA, CENTRAL AMERICA AND MEXICO
($24.95 plus $5.00 S/H USA) ISBN 0-935151-04-4
This 400-page publication has been described as the "Bible" for motorcycle travelers considering a
trip south of the American border. Titled RIDING SOUTH: MEXICO, CENTRAL AMERICA AND SOUTH AMERICA BY MOTORCYCLE,
this book, released in 1999, is the only motorcycling publication to answer the hard questions of what it really
takes to make a ride south. It includes answers to questions such as entry requirements, which motorcycle to take,
budgeting, how to cross the Darien Gap, food and accommodation concerns, insurance, road conditions, route options,
and tips on security and avoiding costly mistakes. It includes over 100 photographs, a multilingual motorcycle
phrase dictionary, and conversion tables and is filled with humorous and personal stories of life on the road.
RIDING SOUTH covers Frazier's 30,000 mile, six-month southern ride from jungles to jail.
He says: "Before I left on my ride South I looked around for some solid answers to questions like whether
of not I would need a Carnet de Passage, what routes were open and when, what about guerillas and bandits, bribes,
would I be able to camp and how much would my trip cost. Sadly, there was nothing for motorcyclists. I could not
even get answers from tourist bureaus or embassies. On my trip I made some mistakes, which once landed me in jail.
I also got deathly sick, and several times over paid for what I did not know. On the other hand, I met some
of the nicest people I have met traveling around the world, found wonderful motorcycling and crossed paths with
someone special, a cosmic experience I would have surely missed had I never ventured south. My previous expeditions
into Mexico and Central America on two wheels were merely a toe in the water compared to my ride to Ushuaia, Argentina,
at the end of the earth."
HOW TO MOTORCYCLE IN MEXICO
($24.95 plus $5.00 S/H USA)
A 60-minutes video, this documentary film gives the viewer an audio and visual taste of what to expect on a
motorcycle ride in Mexico. The film depicts road conditions, accommodations and maintenance options. From Baja
to mainland Mexico, HOW TO MOTORCYCLE IN MEXICO was scripted to allow the viewer to experience Mexico before going
there. While a short trip into Mexico can be a day ride to a border town, the extended tour is quite another experience.

Gas availability, safety, food, road conditions and paperwork requirements are all questions a motorcyclist
wants answer to before following the "Gringo Trail" south.
According to Frazier: "Mexico is a multi-faceted motorcycling experience. For many Baja is their best choice.
Often described as an extension of Southern California, Baja is traveler friendly in that English is spoken everywhere,
the roads are a mix of super slabs to sand tracks, depending upon rider choice, and often you can feel like you
have not left the United States. On the mainland of Mexico things are quite different. A tourist permit is required,
as is a vehicle inspection below certain points. Motorcycle preparation is a must and the stories you hear about
danger are real. An educated traveler in Mexico can have the adventure of a lifetime. HOW TO MOTORCYCLE IN MEXICO
can prepare you for that educated ride."
