6/11/03 We have spent the last, almost two months, catching up with friends and family after our return to Australia. The expected date of arrival of the motorcycle into Sydney, delayed and further delayed as a typhoon in the pacific held up transhipment. The motorcycle finally arrived on the 3rd of November but it will take at least another week to clear customs and quarantine formalities before it will be available to us. Morgan and Wacker, Harley-Davidson Distributors in Brisbane, again generously provided us with parts at cost to rejuvenate the motorcycle on its return. Hopefully we will be able to fit these new parts over the next two weeks. Our plan after completing repairs is to travel to Townsville in north Queensland, before heading slowly around Australia in a clockwise direction starting in January and continuing over the next nine months. There is little planning required in terms of logistics, which will be a break for us. We intend to spend considerable time catching up with old and new friends, going right back to school friends, to current day motorcycle friends. It is now 17 years since we travelled around Australia the first time, educating our three children as we travelled for a year, living out of a small bus and caravan. Things will have changed as have we, a motorcycle instead of a bus, no children and more experience behind us will all lead to a vastly different trip. Australia was our first major travel, revisited now 17 years later. About September 2004 the motorcycle and us hope to travel overseas again, starting the second journey, again in Asia, hopefully with the worlds youngest country, East Timor.Australia
